Platte River Digital Accessibility Plan
Progress-to-date Report

In 2021, Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed into law House Bill 21-1110, which amended existing Colorado statutes to strengthen protections against discrimination for persons with disabilities (the “Digital Accessibility Law”).
The Digital Accessibility Law requires all state agencies, local governments, or any instrumentality of a state of local government, to comply with state-established accessibility standards on or before July 1, 2024. Through House Bill 24-1454, the Colorado legislature extended the compliance deadline for public entities to July 1, 2025, so long as public entities demonstrate good-faith efforts toward compliance and post quarterly progress reports.
Platte River is committed to digital accessibility. Platte River worked with a consultant to make our digital products accessible to persons with disabilities. We continue to work toward developing a complete digital accessibility plan, including:
· Reviewing example documentation from other state and federal agencies to evaluate best practices;
· Engaging third-party consultants to help us make sure our digital products are fully accessible; and
· Creating draft digital accessibility plan documents and guidelines to support future Platte River digital products and outreach.
Although Platte River does not yet have a complete digital accessibility plan, we commit to further good-faith efforts to comply with the Digital Accessibility Law. We will provide another update no later than October 1, 2024, with further detail on our progress to date.
