Platte River Power Authority operates its generation resources with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility. A comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS) guides day‑to‑day operations, ensures compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations, and supports continuous improvement across air quality, water management and coal ash handling.
The EMS includes both administrative and technical components and provides a structured framework for:

Rawhide operates as a zero-liquid discharge facility, which means all cooling water, process water, and industrial stormwater is managed on-site.
